The Tyrolean mountain village is located at approximately 1,250 meters above sea level, directly at the Gerlos Pass and provides an ideal platform for active tourists and holidaymakers to spend an unforgettable holiday. A good infrastructure provides an optimal supply of everyday items and invites you to stroll in the tranquil village.

The possibilities of exciting excursions into nature are endless. A particularly favorable destination in Zillertal is the Wildgerlostal River, respectively the Durlaßboden dam. The dam is approximately six kilometers long and two kilometers wide and at its lowest point of 55 meters. It is found behind a grass-covered stone dam fitted harmoniously in a multi-faced landscape and guarantees, along with the highest standing surfing and sailing school, a boat rental and a beach, a playground and restaurant, hours of entertainment for the whole family.

The varied landscape of the Tyrolean Alps works especially well for extensive exploration tours, where the active vacationers encounter the rich variety of flora and fauna and other scenic highlights. In the five valleys, leaning on the nature reserve Hohe Tauern, along rushing streams, glaciers and snow fields, hiking enthusiasts can experience the highest elevated leisure enjoyment. On the edge of the routes, there are numerous pastures and huts that invite to a small break in an idyllic atmosphere. Grazing Haflinger horses, sheep and cows give the atmosphere a certain natural flair, but will not be disturbed by cyclists and wandering tourists who can explore the more than 200 kilometers of well developed roads within Zillertal. There are also numerous other sports that work under the slogan "mountain active". And so our guests can add sports like rafting, Nordic walking, climbing, mountain biking and surfing to there agenda and make there stay ever so versatile.

In the cold season to offer 165 km of slopes, 51 lifts and cable cars and the best ski schools in the popular winter holiday resort, the Zillertal Arena. Well-groomed cross country trails, a large natural run and well-developed winter walking trails provide for varied sports and leisure activities, as well as snow fun for young and old from December to Easter.
