The Zillertal presents itself in the cold season with well-groomed slopes and varied winter hiking trails as a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. A total of 1,098 square kilometers in the impressive Tyrolean mountains offer countless leisure and sports facilities that make the perfect holiday activities. The Ziller Valley is located about 40 kilometers east of the city of Innsbruck, offering some 34,000 inhabitants. The five side valleys, such as the Gerlostal, Schönachtal or Schwarzachtal also form diverse landscapes, which can be explored in the context of exciting winter hikes.

The popular ski resort Zillertal Arena guarantees, with a total of 174 hectares of snow-covered slopes, 163 km of pistes and 51 lifts, Winter sports at the highest quality. From beginners to professionals, everyone here finds the right sport or activity. The lifts can transport 78,500 people per hour so long waiting at the lifts are very unlikely. A total of eight ski and snowboard schools offer their services in the Zillertal Arena, and give any beginner the opportunity to ride downhill. In the children's paradise, the small resort guests always have fun and enjoy great entertainment. A special highlight of the Zillertal Arena is the Arena Coaster, a toboggan fun for the whole family, which can be found at the base terminal of the arena. 34 huts and snow bars in Austria's most popular ski area invite you to take a little break and social get-together.

Skiers and snowboarders can thus get the entertainment they seek. But even in the Zillertal cross-country skiers are welcome to over 200 kilometers of groomed trails where they can explore the winter landscape. Avid snowboarders prefer to come to Gerlos, in the Arena Hot-Zone snow park, where they perform half-pipe tricks, and are truly admired by many viewers. Winter activities like ice skating, tobogganing, paragliding and hiking are also very popular with many of our guests.

With the free ski-bus tourists reach the ski arena Wildkogel. This is in Neukirchen at Großvenediger and also promises pure winter fun. Families with children will find an ideal terrain, away from the big tourist crowds, skiing in Gerlosstein. The Gerlosstein tandem aerial tramway carries the holiday guests directly into the ski area. The Zillertal Arena ski pass is also usable on Wildkogel and Gerlosstein.
